Winter 2010 Intramural Sports Registration

Registration begins Monday January 11th.

All leagues are co-ed

League play starts:

• Monday, January 25th - Soccer
• Tuesday, January 26th - Competitive Basketball
• Wednesday, January 27th - Volleyball
• Thursday, January 28th - Recreational Basketball

Leagues are free to OHSU Student, Student Center members and march wellness & fitness center members.

Non-student/non-member fees: $50 individual fee/sport, $275 team fee.

RecycleMania Announcement!

From January to March 2010, OHSU will participate in the national campus RecycleMania competition! RecycleMania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities. Over a 10-week period, schools report recycling and trash data which are then ranked according to who collects the largest amount of recyclables per capita, the largest amount of total recyclables, the least amount of trash per capita, or have the highest recycling rate. With each week’s reports and rankings, participating schools watch how their results fluctuate against other schools and use this to rally their campus communities to reduce and recycle more.

Watch for exciting upcoming opportunities for involvement in RecycleMania! Please join us in decreasing waste generated on-campus by reducing, reusing and recycling. Together, we can create a more sustainable campus community at OHSU!

I think we should start making our OHSU album a bit more than 1 photo collection. So I am asking the students of OHSU to lend me their art or even photos from parties and school events. It would be great to add more to our collection

Participate in the Intramural T-shirt Design Contest sponsored by the Student Center and win a prize!

Design Guidelines:

• The OHSU logo or "OHSU/Oregon Health & Science University" lettering must appear in the design.
• The words "Intramural Champs or Champions" must appear in the design.
• If the design is sport-specific, design recommendations for all three intramural sports (volleyball, basketball, and indoor soccer) must be provided.
• Preference will be given to designs without league dates; however, dated designs will receive full consideration.

Shirt style available: Ringer or standard short sleeve t-shirt.

Submit your design to Heather Ennis, Assistant Director of Student Center and Student Activities by January 29, 2010.

Winner will be announced Monday, February 1st.

Participate in a Survey - Media room programming at the Student Center

I'd like to gather your input on programming in the media room at the Student Center. If you would please participate in a short-survey (nine questions) and encourage your fellow students to participate as well, I would greatly appreciate.

Watch the Civil War at the Student Center

The Civil War will be playing in the media room of the Student Center on Thursday, December 3 at 6:00 pm. Stop by and cheer for your favorite team. Go Ducks! Go Beavs!
