5th Annual Student Volunteer Awards Banquet

Hello everyone,

We would like to invite you to the 5th Annual Student Volunteer Awards
Banquet to honor those outstanding individuals among us who have given
back to their local, academic and international communities.

This is traditionally a well-attended, deliciously-catered, open-invitation
event celebrating the service of individual students at OHSU.
This year, approximately 100 people were nominated in the 6 award
categories; all will be honored at the event.
Winners, decided by a voting committee, will be named and awarded
cash prizes ranging from $300-$500, runners up $100.

When: this coming Thursday, May 20th, 5-6:30pm.

Where: Student Center gymnasium, 2nd floor (enter through the book-store)

Program: appetizers/light dinner, wine, cheering

All are welcome!

Volunteer Opportunity

We need volunteer students for two hours, Thursday, 7/15, 1-3:00!
AHEC (Area Health Education Centers) puts on an annual camp called MedStars each July for rural Oregon high school seniors to learn about health care careers. Our “Clinical Skills” activity is run by OHSU students and we need volunteers. All materials and instructions are provided, and we gladly give letters of volunteer time recognition. I am a dental student that will have four rooms open for rent in my house starting in July. It is a five bedroom house with two full bathrooms, two fridges, laundry, nice backyard (trampoline), everything needed besides what you need for your room or if you want to spice up the living room be my guest. . Parking available through the city, I think it is like $35/year or something cheap like that. Rent is $450/month plus utilities. Utilities plus internet and tv usually comes to 90-100/person each month. It is a great deal for being so close to the hospital and actually having a house instead of being stuck in an apartment.
